About

Chloe Willsmore-Ang is a Tax Manager at Spice Taxation, where she advises British expatriates and overseas residents on their UK tax position. She is a Chartered Tax Adviser and a member of the Association of Taxation Technicians, she has worked in UK personal tax from both ends of the expatriate relationship, first advising private clients from a firm in Cornwall, then in Singapore advising high net worth families across Asia on how UK rules reach them.

At Spice Taxation, which she joined in September 2026, her work centres advisory report on UK relocation, residence, inheritance tax and capital gains tax planning. She also focuses on compliance that includes ATED, personal tax returns and capital gains disclosures for individuals living in or outside the UK, alongside advisory reports on residence, inheritance tax and capital gains tax planning.

Her tax career began at PKF-Francis Clark in Truro, where she spent nearly three years in Private Client Tax team running a portfolio that included high net worth families. The work covered the full private client range, from returns and computations through to the technical reports and advisory letters behind them, on residence and domicile, inheritance tax, capital gains tax planning and cross-border compliance. She dealt directly with HMRC and with clients’ solicitors throughout.

After which she moved to Singapore as High Net Worth Wealth Tax Counsel at Prudential Assurance Company Singapore, advising clients across the UK, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Taiwan and China on the tax treatment of offshore life insurance and their exposure across several jurisdictions at once. She turned technical tax positions into scenarios the company’s financial representatives could put in front of clients, and ran the training that taught them to use it.

Chloe read  Economics at Middlesex University (London), graduating with First Class Honours in 2019, and an MSc in Economics and Finance at the University of Surrey with Distinction in 2020. She came into tax from financial analysis at EY Malaysia, qualifying ATT in 2023 and CTA in November 2025.

Chloe is a native Mandarin and English speaker with full professional proficiency in Cantonese. Before her tax career she spent eight months interpreting professionally between Mandarin and Englishacross medical, legal and government settings, and she can take a technical tax conversation in Mandarin or Cantonese as readily as in English.

Born in Malaysia, educated and trained in the United Kingdom and now practising in Singapore, Chloe advises clients whose lives and assets sit in more than one country, a position she has lived herself. She takes the time to understand what a client is actually navigating, and what matters most to her is that they feel heard and come away knowing where they stand.
